Traditional juice turns decadent
Drinking fruit juice is a great way to feed the body the important nutrients it needs while still getting the sweet flavorful taste that unhealthier beverages boast. One fruit juice in particular, cranberry, not only offers one of the most unique flavors with equally unique health benefits, but it also is one of the most versatile juices. According to research compiled by Amy Howell at Rutgers University, a beverage containing just 27% of cranberry juice will deliver all of the health benefits of this small but powerful berry. Because of this, and its rich tart taste, cranberry juice has been combined with other fruits to make some pretty interesting combinations.
There are many juice companies that produce healthful, great tasting cranberry juice blends that combine cranberry with such products as mango, apple, raspberry, grape, peach mango, wildberry, cherry, blackberry, blueberry, pomegranate, and even hibiscus.
For the seasoned juice drinkers or those who are looking for something a little more exotic, you may have to travel outside the US to experience some truly unique blends. In Southeast Asia, for instance, cranberry juice has been combined with such things as mangosteen fruit and purple carrot. For those who haven’t ventured to taste any of these blends, don’t deprive your body of the great tasting health benefits any longer!
