- To prepare the Relish Cocktail:
- 2 oz. Buffalo Trace Whiskey
- 1 oz cranberry syrup (recipe below)
- 1 oz. sparkling white wine
- 3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 oz. Punt d Mes
- 3 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1-3 Orange peels for garnish
- 1 cup ice
- To prepare Cranberry Syrup:
- 12 oz. fresh cranberries
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 chopped orange peel
- 1 to 3 sticks cinammon
- To prepare Cranberry Syrup: Rinse cranberries and drain off excess water. Combine all other ingredients into a pot and bring to a rapid boil, simmer for 10 minutes and remove from heat. Let set for 10 minutes. Immediately strain out solid materials. Reserve syrup for cocktail.
- Cocktail Preparation: Measure all ingredients except for the sparkling white wine into a mixing tin. Shake until all ingredients are well chilled. On the bottom of a chilled rocks glass with ice, pour sparkling white wine. Strain cocktail on top of sparkling wine. Squeeze orange oil on top of drink and garnish with peel
